740 E. Main Street

The remodel of the original Harold Burkett office at 740 E. Main for M&M Thrift Management transformed the mid-century building while preserving its industrial character. The project included the careful restoration of the original steel windows, the design and construction of new industrial- style steel private offices, and updated smooth plaster walls. New tile flooring was installed throughout, creating a cohesive, durable, and refined modern workspace that honors the building’s historic craftsmanship.

5 & 9 N. Pacific Ave

The transformation of the 3,000-square-foot 1920s building at 5 N Pacific has created two distinctive industrial-style warehouse lofts. The design preserves exposed bow-truss ceilings and original concrete floors, complemented by abundant natural light from large windows and skylights. Each loft features porcelain slab bathrooms and industrial linear kitchens, blending historic character with modern refinement for a timeless live-work environment.

Pacific & Main

The remodel of the existing commercial strip center at 1801 E Main Street includes a cohesive design-build approach that updated both exterior and interior elements while preserving the neighborhood scale. The refreshed façade features warm wood siding by HEWN, paired with new corrugated metal siding & roofing to create a contemporary, durable, and low-maintenance exterior suited to the coastal climate. Inside, tenant spaces for Luke’s Deli, Buena Bodega, and Jo Paulo Salon have been reconfigured with upgraded finishes and infrastructure, including the construction of new ADA-compliant restrooms to provide accessible facilities for all patrons and meet current code requirements.

Hotel San Buena

Historic Lodge Development, LP restored the original Elks Lodge #1430 building into a 32-room boutique hotel property in Ventura. Hotel San Buena is a haven of history and hospitality. Built in 1928, this Spanish Revival landmark has since been renovated to provide a luxurious and unique getaway that blends past and present perfectly.

Adaptive Re-Use of a 1950’s Commercial Veterinary Office into Four Residential Units.

Hamilton Lofts

Remodel of the historic Hamilton Hotel in Downtown Ventura transformed the upper floors into fifteen studio and one-bedroom residential units organized around a central atrium space. The design approach emphasized restoration and adaptive reuse, preserving original architectural elements such as the hardwood floors and double-hung windows. An entry art wall, composed of the recovered heat vent stacks uncovered during construction, serves as a sculptural focal point that celebrates the building’s layered history. This residential phase follows the earlier renovation, completed in 2016, of the three ground-floor commercial suites, completing the comprehensive revitalization of the property into a cohesive mixed-use development.

826-828 E Main

Conversion of two commercial buildings into two residential lofts, two commercial creative spaces and rear creative garage office. Design is industrial mid-century and houses The Becker Group, Inc. Offices.

Gasworks Ventura

GasWorks Ventura project is an adaptive re-use of the nearly century-old Southern Counties Gas Co. buildings and the 1953 Leon Walker furniture showroom at the corner of Thompson Boulevard and Hemlock Street in Ventura. The historic structures have been repurposed into a contemporary commercial mixed-use campus while retaining their industrial character, integrating original brick, metal, and courtyard elements with modern improvements to support creative office, retail, and food-service tenants.

Garden Street Lofts in Ventura is a ground-up infill project consisting of 28 industrial-style loft apartments developed on the former Texaco labor services yard near downtown. Each loft is characterized by high ceilings, spiral stairs, and generous natural light, creating open, flexible living spaces with a contemporary urban-industrial feel.
